A week-end spent visiting Genova and hiking in the Cinque Terre national park
Preface
Who could resit to a pizza, prepared under your eyes by an Italian? :-P And what about a proposition to spend a week-end in the National Park of the Cinque Terre?
That was how everything started.
Genova: Let's start!
The companions of the trip with the Lanterna (Lighthouse) of Genova in background.
Genova: Cristoforo Colombo's birth place
Genova: Lion in front of the San Lorenzo Cathedral
"I don't know what I want, but I want it."
Little girl in front of a newsagent. Please also note the two different types of shoes at her feet :-P
Nervi: Amazing day for a photo-session
Park of Nervi
Nervi: Toc! Toc!
I wonder if it's the child of the ones I gave nuts to when I was 6 years old :-P
Portofino
A tour to the Cinque Terre could not bypass a stop at this breathless little town.
Monterosso al Mare
The hike has started from the western town of the Cinque Terre.
Monterosso al Mare
No..it's not a swimming pool!! It's just the beginning of the Cinque Terre national park.
It's a long long way to Riomaggiore..it's a long way to go
By climbing up on Monterosso, it's possible to see some of the other 4 towns that follow on the route.
The last one is at the bottom of the peak far in the background.
Vernazza
The ferry
After having a delicious lunch in Vernazza, we will take that ferry to reach the last town. And then we will get back on foot.
Vernazza: the port
When we got in such position we were really believing that those little boats were actually floating in the air, as the sea was really transparent.
Relaxing on the ferry
Fishermen
Riomaggiore
Riomaggiore: The beginning of the "Sentiero dell'amore"
Corniglia
They put the protections, else people would love to get into that blue sea!
On the way back

Focaccia di Recco!
After a tiring-but-exciting hiking trip, it's time to taste some mouth-watering local focaccia.
